MELROSE — Gerard “Jay” Walsh, 50, passed away tragically from a car accident on May 5, 2018. Jay is the beloved son of Mary Walsh and brother of Vicki Scally. He is survived by brother-in-law, Keith Scally, and nephew Jake, and niece Amanda, who will miss their “Coco” very much. Jay was very loved by his aunts and uncles, Ferne and the late Robert Cerchione, Michael and Linda Cerchione, and Cheryl and Joseph Mayr. He will be missed by cousins, colleagues, and friends.

Jay graduated from Malden High School and Suffolk University. Then pursued his law degree at New England School of Law. Jay was licensed in Massachusetts and New York and ran his own practice in Boston, specializing in immigration. He was so proud to help the lives of countless, grateful immigrants.

Although Jay passed away at a young age, he lived a very full life. He traveled the world with different friends and family and loved running into celebrities. Jay was so passionate about all genres of music, but Latin music was his favorite. He loved telling funny stories and pulling pranks on family members. Jay was so enigmatic, making his wonderful energy quite infectious. Everyone loved being with him. Jay has been noted by his many friends to have given them some of the happiest moments of their childhood. Anytime you see the color orange, think of Jay.
