LYNNFIELD — The Pioneers girls’ indoor track and field team competed against the Masconomet Chieftains Friday in the final dual meet of the season. This meet had been postponed from Jan. 27 due to the blizzard.

Head coach Liane Cook said the “girls had another great meet.” Although they lost by a score of 51-26 to the much larger Chieftains team, which competes in the CAL large school division, the Pioneers took home four first-place finishes. Nine team members also established new personal records.

Co-captain Bailey Fanikos took first place in the 40m dash with a time of 5.3 seconds, which Cook said was a “huge PR.”

Kate Mitchell set a personal record en route to her winning performance in the 600 meters with a time of 1:49.9.

Co-captain Tia Patterson crossed the finish line first in the one mile in under six minutes with a time of 5:55.

The Pioneers captured eight team points in the shot put thanks to the personal records established by both Abbie Dickey, who earned first place with a throw of 25’10”, and Hannah Filipe, who grabbed second place with a throw of 24′ 10 inches.

Brie Giamarco set a personal record with her third-place finish in the 40m hurdles with a time of 7.4 seconds.
