A member of St. Joseph Church and was devoted to her family

WAKEFIELD — Gladys L. Zagaja, 92, a longtime resident of Wakefield, died Tuesday, March 1 at the Brentwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Danvers.

Born in Chelsea on April 28, 1929 she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Pauline (Latka) Ulatowski.

Gladys was raised in Chelsea and had been a Wakefield resident since 1948. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and was devoted to her family.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Zagaja. She was the loving mother of Ronald E. Zagaja of Ipswich, Paul J. Zagaja of Wakefield and Dianne Hickman of Stoneham. She was the sister of the late Theresa Fagone and the late Joseph, Stanley, Anthony, and Zigmund Ulatowski. She is also survived by her six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Monday, April 4 at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery. Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
