WAKEFIELD — Grace M. McCoy, 90, of Wakefield died Friday, February 24, in Reading after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Boston on January 23, 1927. She was raised in Charlestown and was a graduate of Girls High School of Charlestown and had been a Wakefield resident for the past 62 years. She had been a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church and member of the Ladies’ Guild of the church and most recently had been a member of St. Joseph Church.
Mrs. McCoy was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. McCoy. She was the loving mother of Gracemarie C. Flaherty and her husband Jim of Reading, Chuck McCoy and his wife Elizabeth of NH, Maureen O’Brien and her husband Michael of Reading, Mark McCoy and his wife Cheryl of NY and Phillip McCoy and his wife Suzana of Concord. She is also survived by her fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, John and George McCarthy and her sister Margie Redgate.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield Saturday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Friday 4-8 p.m.
