U.S. Navy veteran served on the USS Indiana

LYNNFIELD — Harvey G. Card, 92, of Lynnfield, died on Friday, June 12 at his residence.

Born in Everett on July 21, 1922 he was the son of the late Chester H. and Olive G. (Danford) Card.

Harvey had worked and retired as a machinist from Avco Industries. He had been a resident of Lynnfield since 1949. He was a member of The Lynnfield Centre Congregational Church. He was a longtime member of the International Order of Odd Fellows. Harvey had served in the Navy aboard the USS Indiana during WWII and Korea.

Harvey was the beloved husband of the late Jean D. (Lamb) Card. He was the loving father of Harvey L. Card and his wife Linda of North Reading, Marilyn M. McCarthy of Lynnfield, Barbara J. Conley and her husband Jack of Maine and Debra L. Card of Wakefield. He was the brother of Merrill A. Card of California. He was the loving grandfather of William McCarthy, Robert McCarthy, Stephen Conley, Scott Conley and his fiancée Liz Davies, Jennifer Conley, Michael Conley and Melanie J. Card. He was the great–grandfather of Lillian and Margaret McCarthy and Samantha J. Conley.

His Funeral Service was held in the Centre Congregational Church, 5 Summer St., Lynnfield on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. Interment was at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
