NORTH READING — Paving on Haverhill Street is scheduled to begin this week and may cause traffic delays.

Paving construction on Haverhill Street (from Park Street to North Street) was tentatively scheduled to begin on Wednesday, Oct. 21. The work has three phases:

1. Remove top 1-2 inches of pavement by milling starting on or about Oct. 21.

2. Replace the top coat of pavement starting the week of Oct. 26.

3. Complete finish work (driveway aprons, berms, loam and seed, line painting, etc.) (starting after pavement top coat is installed).

The Department of Public Works will complete the work by mid–November.

Local and through traffic will be impacted by this construction. Signage similar to the Central Street paving and police details will be used. The Department of Public Works recommends that through traffic seek alternate routes during construction to avoid delays. The road will remain open for public safety response, school buses, local deliveries, etc.

The public’s patience will be greatly appreciated during this construction.
