MELROSE — The city of Melrose has announced that 40 vendors will be attending Healthy Melrose 2022, the family fitness and wellness fair that will feature free classes, giveaways, food trucks, consultations with chiropractors and physical therapists and more on May 7 from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the Fred Green Field Melrose Athletic Complex.
Healthy Melrose 2022 will feature food trucks, giveaways, raffles, complimentary activities and classes for all ages and all levels, free screenings from physical therapists and chiropractors, and more.
“Our hope is to improve the quality of life of those who attend the Healthy Melrose fair by helping them find simple and fun ways to make physical and mental health a priority,” said Jenine Wright, owner of Fit Life and a Healthy Melrose Committee member. “Health starts with where we live and our environment, and the fair’s 40 vendors are eager to show the community what’s available to them and to give them tools to become healthier and have fun doing it.
Beginning at 10:15 a.m., Healthy Melrose’s physical activities will start off with Kick it by Eliza, a 13-round music-driven, kickboxing-inspired fitness method focused on an inclusive community class that includes shadowboxing, kickboxing and high intensity interval training with options for all levels. Fit Life and Karate Pro Dojo are also offering the community free classes on the day of the fair, and parents can sign their children up for Karate Pro Dojo’s youth classes.

“I’m deeply proud of the dedicated Healthy Melrose Committee who have volunteered their time to organize this year’s fair,” said Mayor Paul Brodeur. “MelroseWakefield Hospital, Fit Life, and the City have been the core sponsors of this event since its conception in 2019. This year, I’d like also thank the Massachusetts Cultural Council, which has provided the City a $1,500 grant to help us make Healthy Melrose 2022 special.”
