NORTH READING — Henry L. McAuliffe Jr., Captain USMC, Ret., 78, of North Reading and formerly of Lynn, died at his home on Thursday, Feb. 4, 2016.
Born in Lynn on Jan. 12, 1938, he was the son of the late Esther (Greene) and Henry L. McAuliffe Sr. He was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of St. John’s Prep, Class of 1955 and Boston College, Class of 1960.
He worked for many years as a sales consultant. He was a retired U.S. Marine Corps veteran and served as Captain. Henry was a resident of North Reading for the past 48 years and was a member of St. Theresa Church.
He was a loving son, husband, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. He was an Avid B.C. football fan, a member of the Wardroom Club in Boston, Semper Fidelis Society and the Meadow Larks of Lynn.
Family members include his beloved wife of 48 years, Denise (Manning) McAuliffe; his loving son, Michael McAuliffe and his wife Kim of North Reading; loving daughters, Beth Matthews and her husband Rob of Groveland and Lisa Snyder and her husband Ryan of Haverhill; cherished grandchildren, Madeline and Casey McAuliffe, Samantha and Sydney Matthews, Colin and Brendan Snyder.
His funeral was held from the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Tuesday, Feb. 9, followed by a funeral Mass at St. Theresa Church, 63 Winter St. (Rt.62), North Reading.
