NORTH READING — Trash and recycling collection during the weeks of December 26 and January 2 will be delayed by one day throughout town in observance of the Christmas and New Year’s Day holidays.

Whenever a scheduled collection day falls on a holiday, that day’s collection and all remaining collections for that week will be delayed by one day.

Since Christmas Day falls on Sunday, December 25, the holiday will be observed by municipalities on Monday, December 26 and all trash and recycling collections for the entire week will be delayed by one day.

The same schedule will be followed during the first week of the new year as the New Year’s Day holiday will be observed by municipalities on Monday, January 2.

Christmas tree pick-up

Curbside collection of Christmas trees will occur on Saturday, January 7. Trees must be curbside by 6:30 a.m., be free of all decorations and tinsel, and not be bagged. Refer any questions to the DPW Recycling and Solid Waste Division at 978-357-5260.
