Varsity teams will play doubleheader at MVMMS

WAKEFIELD — The entire WMHS basketball schedule for tomorrow has been changed for Wakefield’s games against Melrose.
The varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball teams will now play a one-site doubleheader at the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School Gymnasium. The boys’ game is now scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and the girls’ will tip-off at 7 p.m.
The schedule changes also affect the JV and freshman contests.
The JV boys’ basketball game will now be played at 3:30 p.m. at the Melrose Memorial Veterans Memorial Middle School Gym, while the JV girls’ basketball game will now be played at 5 p.m. at the Marcoux Gym in Melrose.
The freshman boys’ and girls’ hoop games will now be played in Wakefield at 3:30 p.m. The girls’ game will be played at the Charbonneau Field House, while the boys’ contest will be played at the Galvin Middle School.
As a result of the schedule change, the second time through the schedule will result in the varsity and JV games being played in Wakefield, while the freshmen teams will play in Melrose. The varsity girls’ game will be the first to go on Friday, Feb. 10 most likely at 5:30 p.m., while the boys’ will play the featured game at 7 p.m.
