LYNNFIELD — It’s hard to believe that the 2015 election season is just around the corner. Town Clerk Trudy Reid has announced the various deadlines associated with the filing of nomination papers for candidates for elective town office and voter registration for participation in the annual town election and annual Town Meeting.

Nomination papers will be available to candidates on Monday, Jan. 5 from the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall, 55 Summer St. for the annual town election on Monday, April 13.

The deadline to submit nomination papers to the Registrar of Voters for certification is Monday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m.

The last day to object to a nominee or to withdraw from a race is Wednesday, March 11 at 5 p.m.

The last day to register to vote to participate in either the town election or Town Meeting is Tuesday, March 24. The Town Clerk’s office will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. that day to facilitate voter registration.

The last day to post the warrant for the annual Town Meeting is Monday, April 6.

The annual town election will be held on Monday, April 13. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lynnfield High School gymnasium where the voters from all four precincts in town cast their ballots.

The annual Town Meeting will be held on Monday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Lynnfield Middle School.

Katy Shea of Daventry Court was the first resident to announce her candidacy for elective office last week. She will seek a three-year term on the Board of Selectmen. The seat currently held by Selectmen Chairman Dave Nelson is up for election in April.

Other elected officials whose seats are up for election in 2015 are Moderator: Arthur Bourque; School Committee: Christopher Barrett and Salvatore Cammarata; Library Trustees: Seavey Bowdoin and Kerry Haughney; Assessor: Don Garrity; Housing Authority: Bruce Siegel and Planning Board: John Faria.
