LYNNFIELD — Irma J. (Poor) South, 71, a longtime resident of Lynnfield, passed away peacefully at her home Saturday, Nov. 26.

She was the wife of Edward L. South with whom she had shared 52 years of marriage and who was her caregiver throughout her lengthy illness.

She was the mother of Jeremy South of Lynnfield and Jessica Fitzgerald and her husband Michael of Haverhill. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Makayla and Michael Fitzgerald, whom she dearly loved.

Irma was a graduate of Lynnfield High School. In addition to her missionary work as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she spent many years as a devoted caregiver to many older ones. She will be sorely missed by the many people she touched with her kindly interest in them.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the Saugus Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 6 Kingdom Way, Saugus.

Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson-Bryant Funeral Home of Stoneham.
