Reading resident was gifted artist

Carlson-obit-webREADING — James Michael Carlson, 19, a resident of Reading, passed away Sunday, Dec. 4 at the Winchester Hospital.
Born in Winchester on Dec. 11, 1996, James was the son of Lenny Carlson of Reading and the late Margaret “Maggie” (Maguire) Carlson.
James was raised in Reading and was educated in the Reading Public School System, having just graduated in 2016. He was currently employed at the P&S Convenient Store in Reading.
James was a gifted artist, his work is displayed in various venues along the North Shore as well as having an extensive personal collection.
His beautiful smile and quick wit will be missed by all.
In addition to his father, James is survived by his loving sister Lauren E. Carlson of Reading and his adoring grandmother Greta Carlson of Walpole. James is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his girlfriend Nicole Buckley.
His funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
