Retired medical assistant, graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1951

WAKEFIELD — Janet E. Seabury, 81, a longtime Wakefield resident died Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.

Born in Melrose on Jan. 21, 1933 she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Tynan) Wass.

Mrs. Seabury was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1951. She was a retired medical assistant from the office of Dr. George Ghareeb of Reading. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Wakefield Lodge of Elks.

Mrs. Seabury was the beloved wife of the late J. Roger Seabury. She was the loving mother of Paul D. Seabury of Wakefield, Robert M. Seabury and his wife Sharon of Wakefield and the late J. Roger Seabury. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Shelia Seabury of Wakefield as well as Jennifer M. Drew. She was the sister of William Wass and his wife Elizabeth of Melrose, Judy Fabbri and husband Lou of Gloucester and sister-in-law of Janice Seabury. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren Holly, Paul, Kelly, Lauren, Jack, Roger, Madeline and Samantha.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Friday at 9 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
