ObitDeAngelis-webMELROSE — Jennie (Cotillo) DeAngelis, of Melrose, died at home surrounded by her family on Aug. 5, 2015 at the age of 99.

Jennie was born and raised in East Boston and graduated from East Boston High School, Class of 1933. She resided in East Boston until 1961 and the past 54 years in Melrose.

Jennie was a member of St. Mary Church in Melrose for over 50 years and volunteered with the Welcome Wagon for several years. She enjoyed the Continental Restaurant, shopping and going out anywhere and anytime with her family and friends. Jennie loved to spend her summers at her cottage in Nottingham, N.H. and traveling  to Florida, Italy, San Francisco and White River Junction, Vt.

Jennie was the beloved wife of the late Domenic DeAngelis for over 50 years. Loving mother of Robert A. DeAngelis, Richard R. DeAngelis and his fiancée Barbara A. Brown, Arthur J. DeAngelis, all of Wakefield and Jeanne A. DeAngelis of Maryland. Cherished grandmother of Michael and his wife Stacy and Christopher DeAngelis. Cherished great-grandmother of Giana, Alexa, Domenic, Sophia and Rocco. Caring sister of the late Elena Natola and her late husband Joe and the late Olga Packard and her late husband Arthur.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home 79 West Foster St., Melrose on Sunday, Aug. 9 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral on Monday from the Gately Funeral Home at 8 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, 55 Herbert St., Melrose at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
