Machinist who loved Boston sports

John-Allen-Obit-webDANVERS — John K. Allen, 57, of Danvers, formerly of North Reading, died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Dec. 14, 2015.

Born in Lawrence on June 17, 1958. He was the son of the late Albert W. Sr. and Betty E. (Ferguson) Allen. He was raised in North Reading and was a graduate of Northeast Regional Vocational School and he attended Southern New Hampshire Vocational College. John was a machinist for Jones Machine, Inc. in Danvers.

He has been a resident of Danvers for the past 20 years. John had a love of golf, skiing, ice fishing and Boston professional sports.

Family members include his loving brothers, Albert W. Allen Jr. and his wife Jo-Marie and Lawrence F. Allen and his wife Christine, all of North Andover; sisters, Marjorie Tammick of Methuen, H. Judith Allen of Sacramento, Calif. and Katherine Wanglin of Manassas, Va. He was the brother of the late Russell Hall Allen and Peter C. Allen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral was held at the Croswell Funeral Home, 19 Bow St., North Reading on Saturday, Dec. 19.  Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in North Reading. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to the charity of one’s choice. www.croswellfuneralhome.com.
