Vietnam veteran worked at GE

WAKEFIELD — John M. Hogg III, 70, of Wakefield died Friday, July 28, at his residence.

Born in Melrose on February 20, 1947, he was the son of the late John M. Hogg Jr. and Elizabeth L. (Watts) Hogg.

Mr. Hogg was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He then served in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict. 

He had worked as a machinist at General Electric for 17 years. Mr. Hogg enjoyed his motorcycle and his fishing trips, as well as time spent at the family home in Canada.

He was the beloved husband of the late Linda B. (Noel) Hogg. He was the loving father of James Hogg and Jennifer Hogg, both of Wakefield. He is also survived by his sister, Sandy Doty of North Reading; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday, September 10, from 12 noon to 6 p.m. at the West Side Social Club, 4 Harrington Ct., Wakefield. 

Arrangements were in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
