MEDFORD — John P. Bandino, 85, of Medford formerly of Wakefield and North Reading, died on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at the Atria Marland Place in Andover.

Born in Boston on November 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Dominic and Angelina (Bellino) Bandino.

Mr. Bandino was a graduate of Chelsea High School, Class of 1950 and Northeastern University and The Burdett School of Business, Class of 1953. He was the owner of Aljane Insurance Inc. in Medford that was founded in 1972 and had retired from John Hancock in Boston in 1992. Mr. Bandino served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was an avid bowler in Lynn and Wakefield and enjoyed playing softball in East Boston.

Mr. Bandino was the husband of the late Mary Ellen (Penta) Bandino. He is survived by his two daughters; Janine Bandino of Medford and Elise Pryke and her husband David of Acton, his granddaughter Rachel Pryke, his sister Angela O’Connor and her husband Joseph of Revere and his three nieces Pauline, Kim and Darlene.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
