WAKEFIELD — John R. Spector, 25, a lifelong Wakefield resident, died after a long battle with drug addiction, on Saturday, Oct. 24 in Boston.

Born in Melrose on June 1, 1990, he was the son of John W. and Christine M. (Muise) Spector of Wakefield.

John was raised and educated in Wakefield and enjoyed playing soccer as a youth.

In addition to his parents, John is survived by his two brothers: Brian Stokes of Reading and Daniel Spector of Melrose; his sister Jackie Spector of Wakefield; his grandmother Helen Amirault of Wakefield and his grandfather Harvey Spector. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. John was predeceased by his grandfather Paul Amirault and his grandmother Helen Spector.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m.
