WAKEFIELD — Joseph F. Barresi, 60, of Wakefield died on Thursday, January 28 at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington.
Joseph was born in Everett on April 29, 1960 and was the son of the late Salvatore and Florence (Moreschi) Barresi.
Joe was born and raised in Everett and was a graduate of Pope John High School, Class of 1978. He later graduated from St. Leo College in Florida. After college he worked in the family business at Sal’s Dry Cleaning, where he worked with his father and brother and sister.
Along with his wife, Tina he opened and operated Revere Tanning Salons for the past 29 years. Always enjoying the outdoors and going out, he loved spending time raising his two boys. He was always present at his kids sporting events and enjoyed traveling and spending time with them. Joe had a way of captivating the attention of an entire room with his vivid personality and physical presence. He was a gentle giant who was devoted to his family and business. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Joe was the beloved husband of Tina E. (Eckmann) Barresi. He was the loving father of Nicholas J. Barresi and Jacob J. Barresi of Wakefield. He was the brother of Salvatore Barresi and his wife Eileen, Debbie Cooper and her husband John, all of Saugus. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral Mass will be held in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield, on Thursday, at 10 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
COVID-19 guidelines will be in effect. Those attending the visitation will be required to wear a mask and are asked to kindly pay their respects to the family and exit the building to allow for all visitors to greet the family.
