WAKEFIELD — Joseph F. Rich Jr., 61 of Wakefield and formerly of both North Andover and Danvers, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Lynn on Aug. 2, 1953, he was the son of Joseph F. and Ruth L (LaCombe) Rich of Danvers.

Mr. Rich was raised in Danvers and was a graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1971. Following high school he attended Wentworth College. When he was younger, he was an avid hockey player and enjoyed playing for both the Stoneham and Danvers teams. He had a love for music, especially his guitar, which was his favorite hobby.

Mr. Rich was the owner of Rich Roofing of Wakefield.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rich is survived by his beloved wife Debbie L. (Einsidler) Rich; his loving children: Katharine Pimentel and her husband Michael of Dracut, Jessica Rich of Newton and Joseph F. Rich III of Wakefield; his brothers Thomas Rich and his wife Lisa of Beverly, Timothy Rich and his wife Susan of Danvers and Phillip Rich and his wife Margie of Reading. He is also survived by his three grandchildren: Olivia, Mae and Benjamin; nephews, Jason Rich of Danvers and Alex Rich of Reading, nieces Krissy Rich of Danvers and Ana Rich of Reading, as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 a.m.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Danvers.
