Kathleen-Martin-obit-8-11-17_webSTONEHAM — Kathleen A. (Flynn) Martin, 92, of Stoneham, formerly of Melrose, died peacefully on August 3, 2017. 

Kathleen was born in Melrose on April 28, 1925 to Nicholas and Katherine (Healey) Flynn. She was raised in Melrose and graduated from St. Mary’s Grammar and High Schools. Kathleen married her late husband, Earl Martin, and moved to Stoneham, where they raised their daughter. 

Kathleen and Earl later retired to Cape Cod. Kathleen was a very talented seamstress and enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crocheting. She also loved to travel, making trips to Ireland, Hawaii and California. 

Kathleen was the beloved wife of the late Earl Martin. She was the loving mother of Paula Meisner and her husband John of San Diego, California. She was the grandmother of Jeffrey, David, Bryan, Kevin and Andrew. She was the great-grandmother of Tristan, Macy, McKinley, Nathan, Cameron and Weston. She was a loving sister and sister-in-law, and is also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., on Wed., Aug. 9, 2017 from 9-10 a.m. A Funeral Mass will be held following the visitation at St. Mary’s Church, 9 Herbert St., Melrose, at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Kathleen’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
