WAKEFIELD — Kathy J. (Owen) Long, 57, a resident of Wakefield, died Friday, Oct. 2, at the Brigham & Women Hospital in Boston.

Born in New York on June 20, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorice (Crosby) Owen.

Kathy was a graduate of Wakefield High School in the Class of 1976 and Endicott College, Class of 1978. Kathy was a longtime floral designer for Parker Florist in Wakefield.

She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed riding motorcycles in her spare time.

Kathy was the wife of Mark Long and the mother of Nicole K. Perol, Shannon E. Sawyer and her husband Christopher, and Hannah L. Long, all of Wakefield. She was the brother of Larry Owen of Colorado. She is also survived by her two grandchildren Mikayla and Owen Sawyer.

Her funeral will be held at the Greenwood Union Church, 4 Oak St., Wakefield on Wednesday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday 4 to 8 p.m.
