Member of undefeated 1970 Warrior football team
NORTH READING — Kenneth L. Willey, 61, of North Carolina and formerly of North Reading, died Tuesday, August 26, after a brief illness.
Born in Brookline on December 24, 1952 he was the son of the late Lawrence and Evelyn (Landry) Willey.
Mr. Willey was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1971. Ken was a team member of the undefeated Middlesex League Championship football team in 1970.
He served in the United States Army from 1972 to 1975 and later worked in telecommunications.
While in North Carolina he held a position in the security field.
He was the father of Kenneth C. Willey of North Reading and Erika Willey of Winchester. He was the brother of Richard Willey and his wife Susan (Nugent) Willey of Portland, ME and the late Thomas Costa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Mary Costa, Corey Willey, Courtney Willey and the late Jason Costa.
Funeral services were under the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
