NORTH READING — The Lady Hornets girls’ basketball team got back on track by routing the winless Georgetown Royals 60-16 on January 16.

Sophomore Casey McAuliffe was outstanding with a team-high 20 points, including an incredible five 3-pointers. Senior captain Katerina Hassapis was the only other player in double figures with 10 points.

It took the Hornets until two and half minutes into the first quarter to get their first basket. But once they scored the floodgates opened and Georgetown was no match.

The closest the Royals would get in the first half was down 16-7. North Reading took a mammoth 35-7 lead into the half.

Things did not change in the second half for the Royals. The Hornets maintained complete control and expanded the lead. By the final whistle the margin was 60-16
