LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield High School Drama Department is presenting Into the Woods Nov. 19-22 at the Lynnfield High School auditorium.

Performances will be held Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m., Friday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 21 at 7:30 p.m. On Sunday, Nov. 22, the play will be shown at 2 p.m. Tickets are available online at https://www.ticketstage.com/LFHS or at the door starting one hour before each performance. Tickets prices are $15 for adults and $13 for students and seniors. Over 60 students are participating in the production as actors and crew members.

Into the Woods is being directed by High School Choral Director Douglas Hodgkins and assistant director Martha Flom, and is being choreographed by Mary Mazzulli. Leading actors in the production include Janna Sokolow as the Witch; Jack Connelly as the Baker; Ally Peters as the Baker’s Wife; Maddie Yazel as Cinderella; Gianni Pasciuto as Cinderella’s Prince; Katie Nevils as Little Red Riding Hood and Andrew Bunar as Jack.

Into the Woods tells the story of a childless baker and his wife and their dream of starting a family, drawing on characters from fairytales “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Rapunzel,” “Cinderella” and others. The show was a huge hit on Broadway and was subsequently made into a movie in 2014, receiving three Academy Award and three Golden Globe nominations.

The students have been energized by the show and excited to share their work with members of the community.

“I love the freedom of expression that comes with being a part of the drama department and this show in particular,” said junior Andrew Bunar. “It has opened me to a world of possibilities and helped me grow as a person.”

The public is encouraged to attend the performances and show their support for these hard-working actors and crew members. All proceeds from ticket sales and refreshments are put toward show expenses.
