Lillian-Forsey-obit-4-7-17-webMELROSE — Lillian J. (Price) Forsey, 87, a longtime resident of Melrose, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, April 1, 2017.

Lillian was born in Chelsea on November 12, 1929, and was one of two children of the late S. Wesley Price and Annie (Benson) Price.

Lillian was raised in Chelsea, graduated from Chelsea High School, and married Robert L. Forsey on June 14, 1952. They lived in Everett for several years before settling in Melrose in 1963 to raise two children. After her children were grown, Lillian worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years in risk evaluation.

Lillian devoted herself to her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. For Lillian, family always came first, and she centered her life around them. She took great pride in her home, was deeply devoted to Bob, and received so much joy from her grandchildren. In more recent years, Lillian enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the United States with family and friends. Throughout her life, family always remained her greatest focus. Lillian will be missed but always remembered as a source of great support and constant love for her family.

Lillian was the beloved wife of the late Robert L. Forsey, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage. She was the devoted mother of Robin F. Glossner of Williamsport, Pennsylvania; and Robert L. Forsey, Jr. and his wife Jean of Melrose. She was the dear sister of the late Wesley Price and his late wife Phyllis. She was the dear cousin (more like a sister) of Katie Martin of Ashburnham, and was the caring niece of Lydia Bartlett of Melrose. She was the cherished grandmother of Andrew W. Glossner and his wife Hallgerd Eydal; Katharine J. Glossner; Robert L. Forsey, Jr. and his wife Anna; and Richard L. Forsey. She was the loving great-grandmother of Ellis, Thelma, and George.

Relatives and friends gathered in honor and remembrance of Lillian’s life during visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., Melrose on Thursday, April 6 from 4-8 p.m., and for her Funeral Service at the First United Methodist Church, 645 Main St., Melrose on Friday at 10 a.m. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
