MELROSE — Lillian (Alessandrini) Ventura, 93, of Melrose, formerly of Malden, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Brudnick Center for living in Peabody following a lengthy illness. She is the loving wife of the late Anthony J. “Tony” Ventura.

Lillian was born November 23, 1926 in Malden and grew up in Tuscony, Italy and later returned to Everett where she went to high school and graduated in 1947. She is the daughter of the late Laerte and Norma (Federigi) Alessandrini.

She was a former member and Past President of the Everett Emblem Club, fomer member at the Bellevue Golf Club and communicant at St. Josephs Parish in Everett. She was an avid golfer and bowler. Lillian was also an active member at the Dutton Center where she made many friends.

She is survived by her devoted sons John Ventura and his wife Theresa and Paul Ventura and his wife Theresa all of Melrose. Her cherished grandchildren Emma, Anthony, P.J. and Julia, sister of Norma Plunkett and her husband Robert of Everett. Her beloved Pug, Champ.

In addition to her husband Tony and parents, Lillian is predeceased by her brother Leo Alessandrini.

Lillian’s visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St. Melrose on Tuesday, January 7. A Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Church, 429 Upham St., Melrose was on Wednesday January 8. Entombment was in Holy Cross Cemetery Mausoleum, in Malden. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Community Family Dutton Center 1117 Main St., Wakefield, MA 01880.
