LYNNFIELD — Lynnfield Middle School is presenting the musical The Lion King Jr. this weekend.
Lion King Jr. is a one-act theater musical adapted from the classic animated Disney film The Lion King.
The musical will premier in the middle school auditorium on Friday, Nov. 4, beginning at 7 p.m. The Lion King Jr. will be shown on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. and a matinee on Sunday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m.
Becky Petrin is directing The Lion King Jr. Stephen Bloom is serving as the play’s musical director and Jessica Gordon is the musical’s choreographer.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students/seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door or at www.ticketstage.com/T/LYNNFT.

Aidan Briggs is starring as Rafiki. Adam Tanner is portraying Mufasa. Cynthia Flores-Cuvedo is starring as Sarabi. Maddie Mahan is portraying Zazu. Anthony Carroll is starring as Scar. Chris Collins is portraying Young Simba. Maria Chambers is starring as Young Nala.
Charles Wainwright is portraying Simba. Ella Mooradian is starring as Nala. Julianna Fama is portraying Sarafina. Keira Burns is starring as Shenzi. Isabella Miranda is portraying Banzai. Lauren Yazel is starring as Ed. Kimberly Daniels is portraying Timon. Cori Iantosca is starring as Pumba. Meredith Boone is portraying Buzzard Chieftan.
Ensemble
The musical’s ensemble includes Amber Abu-Zahra, Rory Carvalho, Katie Cash, Courtney Cumming, Maddie Daigle, Madison Danese, Grace Drzewiczewski, Colleen Golden, Mary Gray and Allie Mack, Luca Moretti, Mia O’Brien, Adrianna Pascuccio, Rachel Perrin, Malena Raslavicus, Spencer Ripley, Jemima Robins, Emme Speicher and Veronica Wainwright.
Crew
Petrin informed the Villager last week the crew list has yet to be finalized but noted several students will be playing key roles backstage.
Lauren Braconnier is serving as backstage manager. Ella Gaudette is assistant manager. Eliza Koyle is in charge of lighting. Dylan Pool is in charge of sound.
The musical’s prop and production team includes Lauren Lim, Alyssa MacPherson, Dom Micielli, Gigi Tanner, Ella Feury, Grace McKrell, Isabella Toscano, Owen Santarella, Dante Filadoro, Cole Adams, Olivia McGrath and Chase Goldberg.
