WAKEFIELD — The folks at America’s Funniest Videos have a name for Elaine and Jerry Meuse’s young grandson.

“Babbling Baby Boss.”

That’s what the segment this Sunday night will be called when it airs on Channel 5. If you see it, you’ll know what AFV’s production people are talking about.

The video Jerry took with his phone was of his middle son Jon and grandson Patrick O’Day in Jerry and Elaine’s house on Highland Street last April. Patrick was a year old at the time.

Jon was in the process of hanging a television on a wall for his parents. Patrick began yelling, incoherently to all but his uncle.

“But I measured it,” Jon joked as Patrick got louder. After about a minute of the two of them going back and forth, Jerry got out his phone and captured their conversation as video.

Patrick’s mother sent a copy of the video to DiBona Productions in Manhattan Beach, Calif., the people behind the wildly popular America’s Funniest Videos.

At the beginning of September, the producers paid to fly Elaine, Jerry, Jon and Patrick’s parents Timothy and Danielle O’Day to Manhanttan Beach and put them up for free at the Marriott Hotel there for three days. They were also given money to spend each day.

Recently, Jerry learned that the video would be shown on this coming Sunday’s show. The video will have a chance to win $10,000, $3,000 or $2,000, the prizes for the top three picked by the audience at the end of each show.

America’s Funniest Videos airs at 7 p.m. on Channel 5.
