WAKEFIELD — A Wakefield man was arrested last night and charged with assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon outside the Dunkin’ Donuts in the Junction area.

Police went to a Main Street address at about 11:30 p.m. after receiving a call from a father who said that his 22-year-old son was out of control and was outside the house breaking objects. When police arrived, the son had already left the scene but police were able to locate him inside the nearby Dunkin’ Donuts. Police said that Ryan C. O’Donnell appeared agitated and while speaking to him outside of the Dunkin’ Donuts, police said that kicked Officer Shawn Conway in the leg.

Conway and two other officers were able to take O’Donnell into custody on the assault and battery and resisting arrest charges.

A two-car crash at North and Richardson avenues resulted in one citation Friday at about 9:45 a.m. Police said that a 2012 White Volvo S60 was traveling south on North Avenue and attempted to turn left onto Richardson Avenue when it collided with a black 2015 Toyota Rav 4 coming from the opposite direction on North Avenue. The driver of the Volvo was cited for failure to yield.

At about noon on Friday, police went to a Main Street business after on a report of an issue with an employee and possible trespassing. The employee had already left upon arrival of police. The employer was advised on the trespass procedure.

Police were notified by an employee of a Lafayette Street group home at about 3:30 p.m. Friday that two residents of the home were running away and headed toward the Meriam Street bridge. Police reported that both individuals returned to the home without incident.

At about 4 p.m. on Friday, police were called to Elm Square after receiving a report of a man racing his motor vehicle back and forth in his driveway. Police advised the man not to drive due the fact that his license was revoked. The man agreed to comply.

Police arrested a 51-year-old Peabody man on multiple charges including texting while driving, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle on Saturday at about 9:10 p.m. Police placed Kassiani Siopis of  209 Lynn St. under arrest after stopping him at the corner of Albion and Foster streets. Police noted that Kassiani also had outstanding warrants.

Police were called to the Four Points Sheraton Hotel on Audubon Road Sunday morning just before 12:30 a.m. on a report of a disturbance in the bar. Police determined that it was a verbal altercation and many of the participants had left before police arrival.

At about 12:30 a.m., police went to the 10th floor of the Colonial Point Apartments at 95 Audubon Rd. on a report of a large party causing a disturbance. The participants agreed to call it a night. But at about 1 a.m. police were called back to the same apartment, again on a complaint of a loud party. Police said that the party had been discontinued for the evening.

Police alerted the Fire Department and Action Ambulance at about 4:30 a.m. of a possible drug overdose at a local residence. Narcan was administered to a man who was then transported by Action to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

At about 7 a.m. Sunday, police responded to Audubon Road on the report of a theft of a 1998 Ford Ranger.

At about 3:45 p.m. on Sunday, a woman told police that a man had exposed himself to her while she was jogging around the Lake. She said that a heavy set white male in his late 20s or earl 30s was sitting in a black, older style sports car parked on Main street opposite Walden Road. As she was running past the car, she said, the man exposed himself. He took off in the car shortly after the incident, the woman said. The car was described as possibly having a red racing stripe along the side.

Police, Fire and Action Ambulance responded to a local restaurant at about 8:30 p.m. Sunday after a caller reported a man “nodding off” and possibly under the influence of drugs. The man was transported to Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

The Fire Department responded to 22 calls over the weekend, 16 of which were for medical aid.

On Saturday at 11 a.m. firefighters responded to a Vernon Street address on a report of an arcing electrical outlet. Firefighters were able to disconnect power to the outlet and the owner will call an electrician.

On Sunday at 9 p.m. the Fire Department went to Redfield Road on the report of wires arcing in trees. Reading Fire Department was already on scene and handled the matter.

The Fire Department went to check on a fire alarm at Billy’s Roast Beef on Main Street at 9 p.m. on Sunday. The alarm was set off by workers cleaning the grill.

The Fire Department also responded to a number of accidental or malfunctioning fire and carbon monoxide alarms over the weekend.
