Drew-obit-webCHANDLER, Ariz. — Lois A. (Moore) Drew passed away at the Dobson Home/ Hospice of the Valley in Chandler, Ariz. on Nov. 2.

Lois was born in Waltham to the late Gordon and Bernice (Lee) Moore, raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1945.

She lived in Malden for a few years, Melrose for 40 Years, 15 years in Salem, N.H. and in Chandler, Ariz. the past seven years.

Mrs. Drew worked as a cashier supervisor at Cerretani’s Market in Melrose for 21 years.

Lois and her late husband Robert enjoyed summers in Limerick, Maine since 1970 and boating on Sokokis with family and friends.

Mrs. Drew was an excellent cook, was a member of the Red Hat Society, volunteered at Treasurers for Teachers, assisted helping the people of Haiti through her church in Arizona and was a member of the “Lois Club.”

She had a heart of gold and would open her doors for who ever was in need. She loved spending time with family and friends and will be sorely missed by all her girlfriends in Arizona.

Lois was the beloved wife of the late Robert E. Drew Sr. She was the loving Mother of Robert E. Drew Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Arizona, Stephen L. Drew and his wife Helen of Pennsylvania and Diane M. Streeter and her husband Don of New Hampshire. She was the cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was the caring sister of Willis Moore and his wife Pauline of Nevada and Jerome Chapin and his wife Jo of Florida. She is also survived by several adoring nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 West Foster St., Melrose, on Friday, Nov. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral from the Gately Funeral Home on Saturday morning at 8 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Nov. 7, at St. Mary Church, Herbert Street, Melrose at 9 a.m.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
