LYNNFIELD — As the Villager was going to press on Tuesday afternoon, it was learned that longtime Library Trustee E. Seavey Bowdoin had died early Tuesday morning.
According to Robert Curtin, the assistant to administration, at the time of his death Bowdoin was the town’s longest serving elected official at 34 years.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Seavey Bowdoin at this time,” stated Selectman Phil Crawford, chairman of the Board of Selectmen.
Crawford continued, “With his passing, Lynnfield has lost one of its elder statesmen and our library has lost its greatest champion. Seavey’s eloquence, insight and commitment to public service will be deeply missed, but his decades of work on behalf of the town and its library will enrich the lives and minds of future generations.”
Services had not been announced at the time of publication.
