MELROSE — Louis D. Santos, 79, of Melrose, died on February 2, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Louis was born in Cambridge to John and Annie (Silva) Santos on September 24, 1936. He was raised in Cambridge and attended Cambridge schools. After high school, Louis joined the National Guard and served honorably for several years.

He built the lake house with the help of his family, making it a truly unique place that held a special spot in his heart. Out at the lake, Louis enjoyed boating and especially having barbeques for the whole family. He loved his family very much and will be missed greatly.
