STONEHAM — Lucy M. Mahan, 86, of Stoneham died at her home on March 24 surrounded by her family.

Born in Malden on Dec. 13, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Elvira (Monti) Carozza.

Mrs. Mahan was raised in Malden and was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1948. She had been a longtime Stoneham resident. She was a retired data entry operator for Addison Wesley Publications. She enjoyed bowling and taking trips to the many casinos in the area.

Mrs. Mahan was the beloved wife of William T. Mahan. She was the loving mother of William T. Mahan Jr. and his wife Donna of Londonderry, N.H. and John Mahan and his wife Anne Marie of Hollis, N.H. She was the sister of John Carozza of Saugus, Mary Zarba of Hampton Beach, N.H. and the late Joseph, Hugo and Alexander Carozza. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Keri, Ryan, Sean and his wife Mary and Caity.

A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
