LYNNFIELD — Three members of the Lynnfield High field hockey team recently received postseason honors from the Cape Ann League coaches. One Pioneer made the Cape Ann League First-Team All-Stars while two other girls made the CAL Second-Team All-Stars.
Jacqui Carbone, a captain, made the CAL First-Team All-Stars. The senior defenseman also made the Best of 60 Selection as well.
“Jacqui and Anna Kaminski (the other senior captain), were instrumental in the success of this team,” said Pioneers head coach Samantha Pindara, who just finished her second year at the helm. “They kept everyone grounded, focused on our goals, and led with confidence. I valued their input and trusted that the decisions they made were in the best interest of the team.”
The two Pioneers that made the CAL Second-Team All-Stars are Ally Orlofski (midfield) and Julia Carbone (forward). Orlofski is a senior while Julia Carbone, Jacqui’s younger sister, is a junior.
Julia Carbone led the team in assists with 14 and was second behind Kaminski in goals with nine.
It is the first-postseason honor for all three girls.
Lynnfield lost to Manchester-Essex 1-0 in the Division 4 round of eight game on Nov. 13 to end the year at 9-7-5. The Pioneers beat North Brookfield, 6-1, in the first round and Georgetown, 4-1, in the second round.
Lynnfield finished in third place in the CAL Kinney division behind Pentucket and Triton with a 6-4-4 league record.
