LYNNFIELD — A 38-year-old Olde Towne Road resident was struck by a vehicle while walking near the intersection of Chestnut and Main streets late Sunday afternoon and eventually died from his injuries.
According to Essex District Attorney spokeswoman Carrie Kimball-Monahan, Peter W. Costas of 30 Olde Towne Rd. was struck shortly before 6 p.m. by a local woman driving a 2014 Lexus. Costas was taken to Lahey Clinic in Burlington where he was later pronounced dead.
Kimball-Monahan did not release the name of the driver, who has not yet been charged.
The matter remains under investigation by Lynnfield Police and the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section.
Police were called to the accident scene at 5:53 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14. An officer was requested back at the scene at 8 p.m.
