LYNNFIELD — The annual Lynnfield Middle School Holiday Concert will be held Wednesday, December 5 at 7 p.m. in the LMS Auditorium.

The concert will feature performances by the bands and choruses of Lynnfield Middle School as well as the Jazz Band, Pioneer Singers and Offbeat Beats and Techno Tunes (OBTT) students.

A special highlight of this year’s program is the world premiere performance of “Canticum Novum.” Commissioned by the Lynnfield Cultural Council and the Lynnfield Middle School Music Department, “Canticum Novum” was composed by Andy Beck in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Pioneer Singers, Lynnfield Middle School’s select choral group.

Beck is the director of Choral Publications at Alfred Music. A prolific composer and arranger, he has over 450 popular choral works, vocal resources and children’s musicals currently in print. He is in demand as a guest conductor, choreographer, adjudicator, and clinician for music educators and students throughout the United States and beyond. In recent years, Beck has been a commissioned composer and/or guest conductor for honor choirs of all ages, including all-state groups throughout the country.

“Call time for students is 6:30 p.m.,” said LMS Music Director Steve Bloom. “We hope to see you.”
