Senior captain Stuart Glover (138 lbs.) improved to 4-0 this season after pinning his opponent at 1:04.

“Stuart has started the season with four pins,” said Black and Gold head coach Craig Stone.

The Black and Gold were down 34-30 when senior Greg Camier (285 lbs.) pinned his opponent at 2:36 of the second period, which gave LNR the 36-34 win.

Senior captain Timmy Leggett (132 lbs.) and senior captain Sean McCullough (182 lbs.) won their respective matches by forfeit.

Stone said LNR and Pentucket both forfeited the 106 lb. and 113 lb. weight classes.

“Of the remaining 12 matches, each team won six matches,” said Stone. “Eleven of remaining matches were decided by pin or forfeit. The difference in the win for the Black and Gold was Steven Kane (220 lbs.), who was able to fight off his back, go the distance and limit his opponent to a four-point decision win.”

Stone commended LNR’s performance against the Sachems.

“It was an exciting dual meet for both teams and the crowd,” said Stone. “I was proud of our team’s competitive level on the mat, and the support for their teammates when they were off the mat. Everyone showed tremendous heart, effort, attitude and team spirit.”
