ROWLEY — The Lynnfield High baseball team kept their terrific season rolling on Saturday at Eiras Park in Rowley, defeating Triton 3-2 for their 5th straight win. Lynnfield was 9-2 as of press time, before their road game against Newburyport on Tuesday.

The Pioneers were ranked No. 3 in the latest MIAA Div. 4 power rankings, trailing only No. 1 Uxbridge (12-1) and No. 2 Northbridge (11-2). Seekonk (11-2) is 4th and Clinton (9-3) rounds out the top five.

Lynnfield’s win over Triton came two days after a 9-1 romp over Ipswich, also on the road. The Pioneers beat Pentucket 7-2 on April 30 and came back to beat North Reading 4-2 at home on April 27.

After their matchup against Newburyport, Lynnfield will host Manchester-Essex on Thursday at 4 p.m. Their busy schedule continues on Saturday with another home game against Essex Tech at 10 a.m.
