The Generals scored early in the game but junior Max Sieger scored his first career goal to tie it late in the first half. Captain Jonathan Luders had the assist.

“We controlled the play for most of the first half,” said head coach Brent Munroe.

With a little over 10 minutes remaining in the game, senior Jeremy Banks scored his first-career goal, with Luders assisting again.

Junior goalkeeper Jack Campbell tallied four saves in net, as most of the play took place in the Generals’ end of the field.

“The defense played well,’ said Munroe.

Ties Rockport

On Sept. 14, the Pioneers tied host Rockport, 1-1.

“It was a strange game because it was called at halftime due to the lighting,” said Munroe, as he noted a game only needs to go to the half to become official.

Rockport scored early on as the Pioneers have struggled coming out the gate.

Luders scored unassisted later on to knot the score.

Campbell made two saves in net.

On Wednesday, the Pioneers visit Newburyport at 6 p.m. Lynnfield hosts Haverhill in a non-league game at 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 25. Lynnfield then returns to Cape Ann League action on Sept. 26 as the locals welcome Pentucket at 4 p.m.
