IPSWICH — The LHS boys’ track and field team had great performance at the Div. 4 State Meet on Saturday in Ipswich as they finished 11th out of 45 teams by scoring 24 points.
The Pioneers were led by three athletes who all scored points and qualified for the all states meet in their respective events.
Sophomore Ben Kramich got first overall in the pole vault by soaring 12’6”.
Senior Kevin Travers also scored big for Lynnfield by finishing 4th in the pole vault with an 11’6” jump. Junior Ryan Bey got a 9’6.”
Nick Kinnon was excellent in two events as he took second in the 200 meters (22.94) and eighth in 100 meters (11.36).
While those were the main point scorers for Lynnfield plenty of other Pioneers had noteworthy performances.
Brett Cohee ran a good race in the 200 meters (24.05) to take 11th. Cohee also jumped a 38’2” in the triple jump, which was a big event for Lynnfield as Chris Deschenes took 14th overall with a 38’6” and Max Sieger got a 34.”
Alejandro Lynch got a 65.23 in the 400 meter hurdles.
Nathan Drislane threw the shot put 37-09.”
Two relay teams were also excellent for Lynnfield. The 4×100 team (Jack Cleary, Max Sieger, John Lee and Brett Cohee) got 10th overall with a time of 46.62.
The 4×800 team (Jack Campbell, Ryan Iapicca, Matt Ricciardi and John Astrofsky) got ninth overall with a time of 9:00.95.
