ANDOVER — The cross-country teams cruised past archrival North Reading on Sept. 20.
The girls’ team (1-0) defeated the Hornets 22-43. The lowest score in cross-country wins.
Junior Gabby Bottaro finished second in the meet (20:31). Senior captain Katie Cash was third overall (21:29). Senior captain Viola Wertz placed fourth in the meet (21:58). Junior Kaila George finished fifth overall (22:40).
Sophomore Shea Moore placed sixth in the meet (23:10). Senior captain Olivia Goguen was seventh overall (23:52). Freshman Maeve Wertz secured an eighth place finish against the Hornets (24:28). Junior Lily White finished ninth during the meet (24:45). Sophomore April Sun was 11th overall (28:40).
Boys’ results
The boys’ team (1-0) defeated the Hornets 17-42.
Senior captain Ryan Nguyen broke the tape first against North Reading (17:12). Sophomore Dylan Nguyen finished second overall (17:33). Captain Shea McCarthy placed third during the meet (17:34). Senior Srivanth Tudi finished fifth against the Hornets (18:09). Senior Jack Marenghi was sixth overall (18:38).
Senior David Mower finished seventh against the Hornets (18:47). Senior Davius Chan placed eighth during the meet (18:52). Senior Owen White secured a ninth place finish (18:53). Sophomore Nick DeGennaro finished 12th in the meet (19:19). Freshman Liam Gardner placed 13th overall (19:22). Junior Ashkrit Mahajan secured a 14th place finish (19:26).
