LYNNFIELD — The Lynnfield High field hockey team continued their strong season last week with a 1-0 win over Amesbury on Oct. 7 as senior Charlotte Radulski picked up her sixth shutout of the season.

It was Lynnfield’s sixth win in their last eight games as they moved to 7-4 overall and 6-3 in CAL play.

The Pioneers fell to Newburyport 2-0 on Oct. 3.

Lynnfield had two wins the previous week, topping Pentucket 2-1 on Sept. 26 and Georgetown 3-0 on Sept. 28.

Against the Panthers, Lynnfield got an early goal from senior captain Julia Carbone.

Pentucket tied the game early in the second half but the home team responded when Carbone found Sofia Raffa for the go-ahead goal. Radulski and the defense took it from there, securing a big win.

In their last eight, Lynnfield has outscored their opponents by a combined count of 14-3.

The team hosted Ipswich after press time on Tuesday night for their annual Play for the Cure game. Their next game is against Triton at home on Friday night at 4 p.m.
