LYNNFIELD — With another successful season concluded, the Lynnfield football Pioneers and their parents met to reap the rewards at the team’s annual banquet last week.

The team finished the year with an 8-3 record, 3-1 in the CAL Baker division, which earned them a share of the league title. It was the sixth year in a row that the Pioneers have captured the league title.

Co-Players of the Year

Co-captain Nick Kinnon and senior quarterback Matt Mortellite were named league co-offensive Players of the Year. It was the second year Kinnon has earned All-League honors. Co-captains Cooper Marengi and Harry Collins, along with senior Jason Ndansi were also named league All-Stars.

Lynnfield is now 27-1 in its last five league campaigns and is 51-16 overall, an .836 winning percentage, over the past five years. The 2017 Pioneers were the 16th team in the 60-year history of Lynnfield High football to reach eight wins or more.
