BILLERICA — On April 18, the Lynnfield High girls’ lacrosse team beat host Shawsheen Tech 13-3 in Billerica. With that non-league victory, the Pioneers improved to 3-2 overall as they completed the season sweep over the non-league Rams. Lynnfield won the first meeting 10-1 at home back on April 10.

After Shawsheen scored the first goal, the Pioneers went on a 13-0 run and led 9-1 at the half.

“It was a convincing win,” said Lynnfield head coach Ethan Blanchette. “Everyone contributed to the victory.”

Jen Flynn, a sophomore, had a big day as she led the team with four goals, two assists, six ground balls and two caused turnovers. Senior defender Brianna Barrett, scored the first goal of her career and scooped up four ground balls while senior Olivia Sarni scored three goals.

Junior Tori Morelli, won six draws and scored a pair of goals. Sophomore goalkeepers Grace Magno and Ava O’Brien combined to limit the Rams to three goals in the victory while junior Maddie Burke and sophomore Maddy Murphy each collected three ground balls and scored a goal.

The next game for the Pioneers will be on April 29 as they host Mystic Valley at 4 p.m. They then return to Cape Ann League play the next day as they visit Hamilton-Wenham. That game will start at 5 p.m.

Lynnfield entered this week with a CAL record of 1-2.
