NORWELL — The Lynnfield High boys’ track and field team traveled to Norwell High over the weekend to compete in the Div. 5 state track and field championships.

Senior Chase Goldberg had a throw to remember in the javelin, his 161’05” good for 3rd overall. Junior Quinn Hardisty was 12th in the event at 139’05” and senior Gavin Fair got 14th with a 137’03”.

Senior Ethan Downey was 9th in the shot put with a 43’0.5” and sophomore Jared Bernebei got 9th in the discus (124’04”) while Downey was 14th in the discus (111’06”) to conclude a strong day for the Pioneer throwers.

Junior Ryan DeBenedictis took 9th in the pole vault with a 9’00.33”. Sophomore Matthew Squadrito was 11th in 8’06.0”.

Joey Cucciniello was 10th in the triple jump with a 41’07.25” while freshman Nick Kelter was 17th with a 40’01”.

Sophomore Eli Mendese had a great weekend first in the high jump taking 8th with a 5’10” then getting 15th in the long jump with a 19’04.0”. Sophomore Dillon Reilly was 19th in the high jump with a 5’08”.

Freshman Zahir Mitchell was 17th in the long jump with a 19’01.5”.

The 4×100 relay team of Cuciniello, Mitchell, senior Anthony Attubato and sophomore Jesse Dorman took 14th in the 4×100 relay in a time of 45.09.

Senior Jack DiGangi was 17th in the 400 meters in a time of 53.30.
