LYNNFIELD — On Wednesday, January 10, representatives from the Baker-Polito administration’s Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation will be speaking at the Lynnfield Senior Center, 525 Salem St., on the topic of scams, shopping rights, and online safety.

The presentation will take place at 12:30 p.m. Research and Special Projects Manager Robin Putnam will present Consumer University with a focus on scams, shopping rights, and online safety. The presentation will include information about the consumer education and advocacy mission of the Office of Consumer Affairs, and how people can protect themselves from scams and identity theft.

Additionally, the presentation will also include information on expressed and implied warranties, return policies, defective merchandise, pricing discrepancies, and shopping online, through the mail or from television ads.
