A loving and loyal woman who adored her family
WAKEFIELD — Deborah Ann (McPherson) Drebit, 62, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Nov. 30, 2021.
Debbie was born on May 23, 1959 in Melrose. She met her husband Stephen as a teenager on Lynn Beach. They married at the First Baptist Church in Melrose on Sept. 8, 1979. Debbie and Stephen renewed their vows at St. Florence Church in Wakefield on Feb. 8, 1986. They have two children, Brandon and Andrea.
Debbie worked at Eastern Bank until she found her ideal career with Woburn Public Schools in 2002. Of all the things in Debbie’s life, she lived for her family, adored her students at school and valued her friendships. She shared her loving, loyal and sarcastic personality with everyone she met. Above all else, her life gained new meaning when she became “MeMe.”
Debbie’s mother Cynthia predeceased her. Her loving husband, Stephen; son Brandon and his wife, Alexis Drebit; and daughter Andrea and her husband, Eddie Correia, survive Debbie. Her grandchildren Jordan, Ava, Sophie, Violet, Matthew and Jason also survive Debbie. Debbie’s brothers, Michael McPherson and Charles McPherson, along with many adoring nieces, nephews, extended family and friends also survive her.
People are invited to celebrate Debbie’s life at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18 at St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the church prior to the Mass starting at 9 a.m.
