U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War

PEABODY — H. Thomas Neavitt, 90, died in Peabody on Oct. 4, 2018. He was a former resident of Lynnfield, Port St. Lucie, Fla. and North Conway, N.H.

Thomas was born in Baltimore on April 11, 1928 and was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Thomas) Neavitt.

Thomas was raised in Baltimore and was a graduate of John’s Hopkin’s University in Baltimore with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He later went on to serve as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He had worked for the former Transitron Electronics Corporation of Wakefield and also the Teradyne Corporation. He had also been a member of the Salem Country Club and was a lover of all New England sports.

Thomas was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. (Ficke) Neavitt. He was the loving father of Elizabeth N. Frank and her husband Walter of Bedford; Janice Neavitt of Charlestown; Carol Neavitt of Peabody; and Ellen Chapman and her husband Randy of New Hampshire. He was the brother of Nancy Wolf of Maryland. He was the grandfather of Caroline, Emily, Thomas, Jack and Allison; and was the great-grandfather of Arco, Milly, Dorothy and Chloe.

Funeral services will be private. Arrangements were in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield.
